Recently I've found myself annoyingly distracted by those list-based articles with catchy titles like "10 Things You Didn't Know About Cheese" or "7 Things You Do That Are Probably Annoying" or "8 Great Uses For Wheat Berries".
Sometimes the article is interesting.. more often it's just a list and I probably should have been sleeping instead of reading stuff on the internet. Darn those catchy titles and their time wasting ways!
I've decided to make my own post with a similar title for those of you who are also sucked in by such headlines. It gives the impression that these are recipes that I wouldn't post about because of some moral objection or taste preference. However, I have few food related morals and I'll eat just about anything so it's actually a list of recipes that are from my column at the Globe and Mail instead of on my blog.
So, here are five recipes that aren't on my blog (but are still really really yummy)
Number one (pictured above): S'more cookies! Soft cookies with chewy edges that are loaded with chunks of chocolate, graham crackers, and toasted marshmallows. I made a ton of these before I was happy with the recipe, luckily they were really easy to give away.
2. Alfajores: Creamy dulce de leche sandwiched between two lightly sweetened shortbread cookies. This is the recipe that made me fall in love with shortbread dough.. could any cookie be easier or more versatile?
3. Mango Key Lime Pie: Part of the condensed milk in the recipe is replaced with pureed mango, plus there is coconut in the graham cracker crust. It's citrusy, tropical, tart, and creamy.. one of my favorites.
4. Apple Cheddar Muffins: Apple and cheddar is one of my favorite flavor combinations. I can't get enough of the sweet and savory.. especially when its baked into a warm little muffin.
5. No-Bake Chocolate Cookies: The grown-up version of the childhood classic. More cocoa powder and semi-sweet chocolate chips with hints of orange zest.
I suppose that I should have picked my Top 5 or my Least Favorite Five to make this an even more compelling list (if that's even possible) but this is just a randomly chosen five recipes that I really enjoyed creating and wanted to share with you all!
What a tricky way of getting me to read this post and share your Globe & Mail columns! ALL OF IT looks delish - nice work!

Haha... Aren't you sneaky! Lucky for you these all look fabulous. I gotta make me some of them apple cheddar muffins. Especially now apple season is here!

Haha! I have most of these clipped and in my "to try" file! Nice one!

Haha, love the baking list, you definitely tricked me! :) I enjoy reading them online too, the website cracked.com is the WORST for them.
Love your photo of the s'more cookies. I always have trouble stacking cookies for my pictures, but yours turned out fabulous and you can still tell what's in the cookies.

FABULOUS. I've been on a bit of a cookie-kick recently; I'm really excited to try some of these recipes out - especially the dulce de leche flavor with shortbread. Traditionally I can't get shortbread right...this is my chance! ^_^

Ugh, I know what you mean about those lists! Some times I spend most of the time looking for this said list and then find it in small letters hidden in the sidebar! Stupid catchy titles! This list however, is waaaaay worth my time and drool!

Wow, everything looks so good, but I'm stuck on the s'mores cookies. Yum. I didn't get any campfire action this summer. Will need to make these.

It does work like that with those titles, doesn't it? You had me reading this one, that's for sure, so it worked! Love the look of all of these by the way!

I too am totally sucked in by "top 5" posts - I might write one like "top 5 things I keep saying I will do on my blog" or "top 5 things I just can't bake"! Seriously though, they all look incredible, especially the alfajores!

You caught my attention, and it was worth it! Oh my - those alfajores.

Haha I love this post. It all looks so yummy. But I guess I'll never see these recipes.
