Who doesn't love cake? And sprinkles? They're delicious! Therefore, every dessert/candy/drink would be significantly improved if it could just harness the awesome flavor of cake batter. After seeing a photo or two pinned of cake batter fudge I was curious enough to search around the internet and see if it would be something worth making.
What I discovered is that cake batter fudge falls into two distinct categories:
1. Recipes that actually use boxed cake mix for flavor. The other ingredients consist of powdered sugar, butter, milk, and sprinkles.
2. Recipes that did NOT use a boxed cake mix. These recipes called for condensed milk, white chocolate, vanilla, flavor extracts, and sprinkles.
After some consideration I realized I had no choice but to do a recipe showdown and let the best fudge win. Making fudge in your microwave is a whole lot more exciting when you're pretending that those fudges are battling for title of "Most Edible Cake Batter Fudge"
The fudges would be judged on:
Appearance : Does it look like fudge? Is it a cheerful party-in-a-pan? Does it make you want to instagram 1000 photos of it?
Flavor : Does it taste like birthday cake? Does it taste good? Would I have a second piece?
Texture: Is it fudgey? Does it melt away in your mouth?
